GenXYBoom is an adult group started at Stamford Church of Christ. The purpose of the group is to create Christian fellowship opportunities for people in Generations X and Y. Members of the Baby Boom generation are also welcomed to attend our events! Previous get-togethers include game nights, bowling, and meeting at various locales in the community. Future events include book clubs, plays, and even kayaking. GenXYBoom maintains a Christian focus while openly welcoming people of all faiths.

This group offers a forum for writers to learn and exchange practical information they need to get published. Members gather to ask questions and give advice about every stage of the publishing process, from writing a manuscript to querying an agent to negotiating a contract. While there are many groups for writers out there, most focus exclusively on the craft of writing, while failing to address the practical information that publishers really care about and that can make or break a book deal. …

I decided to start this book club to create a group of like minded individuals that enjoy reading about interesting people. It should be interesting to hear different view points from the group about the focused people's personalities, the effect they had on others, and/or by what they contributed to their region, nation or to the world, whether it was a positive influence or controversial.  Not that other books can't be chosen too, we seem to be drifting toward biographies.

There are many conservative authors out there and everyone that is a part of the group enjoys reading books about politics, or at least civics. Most books will be non-fiction although some relevant fiction may be picked. All are welcome who possess a genuine and keen interest in reading about and discussing politics and who want to be a part of a local book club.

I just moved to Westchester from Long Island, where there were book clubs galore. I can't seem to find any here. I'm 25 and I wanted to meet other book-lovers around my age in the area.
